NORTHERN QUEENSLAND - Out from Townsville ( April - October)
A hunting and fishing sportsman's paradise in the dry tropics, we run hunts to the rivers and coastal country in North Queensland out from Townsville. Big pigs, dingoes and Chital deer plus estuary fishing for Barramundi, Mangrove jacks, mud crabs and prawns on different properties throughout North Qld, best months April to October.
Pig hunting - older bigger pigs with longer tusks are more likely to be encountered in North Qld as the climate is more suitable for breeding and there is less hunting pressure, also the more readily available food supplies and cover provided by sugar cane crops produce some real monster boars.
Chital deer - the beautiful spotted deer from India can be seen in every direction in small groups and large herds grazing amongst lush tropical feed. These ideal climatic conditions produce heavy symmetrical lyre shaped antlers with 6 tines ranging up to 34" in length and make a magnificent mounted trophy plus a beautiful skin for the floor. Chital deer can be found in hard antler throughout the year and are therefore not confined to a trophy season as with Fallow and Red deer.
With current discounted air fares, Townsville is within easy economical reach from southern capital cities, a few hours travel can put the hunter and fisherman into a bountiful and beautiful pristine, warm environment.
